diy || 52 things i love about you

This blog post is unique in that it was originally posted on my previous blog, More Than Words. If you’re interested in checking out the original post, you can find it here.

I wanted to revamp and reintroduce this post because I don’t have many DIY projects on this blog and I want to share one that is cute and simple. If you’re like me and have little to no crafting talent, this DIY is also very easy, fun, and cheap! And since I am also terrible at figuring out gift to give to people, it was easy for me to obtain the supplies and make the gift itself. This little gift idea is perfect for any occasion where you might want to let someone know just how much you love them – such as Valentine’s Day, a birthday, or an anniversary. AND, it can be a gift for anyone: a spouse, a friend, a loved one, or your children.

I made this for Asa as a birthday gift a few years ago. To be honest, it was a little difficult to come up with 52 ideas (not that there isn’t that much to love about him, but that sometimes things became redundant!), but he loved it all the same. He appreciated the time and thought put into each card.

Here are the supplies you will need:

  • one deck of 52 cards
  • a fine tip permanent marker
  • a list of 52 things you love about the gift receiver

In the end, this gift would cost you the price of cards ($3?) and some time spent brainstorming loving ideas about the person to whom you’re giving the gift! After the initial gift-giving, the cards can be used for a card game; use one as a bookmark; pin one to the fridge; and even carry one on your person to serve as a reminder throughout the day!
